The CES treadmill of PCs does not stop. Lenovo has been busy. Let’s start with its latest YogaBook, the dual screen YogaBook 9i. Instead of folding like a conventional laptop, this… thing unfolds one screen over another, with a slim keyboard at the bottom. Luckily, in addition to the keyboard and stylus attachments, there’s a kickstand to ensure those two 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED displays stay put. There’s an incredible amount of flexibility here. You can have the screens unfolded like a book, stacked on top of each other, or like a typical laptop, with the bottom screen showing the keyboard.

Then there’s the $400 Smart paper tablet. A shameless swipe to rival Amazon’s e-ink Scribe tablet, there’s a screen for writing and annotating and a battery-free stylus that you can store in the case. There are nine pen settings (such as pencil, ballpoint, and marker) and over 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity to ensure your sketches come out the way you want. Lenovo’s Smart Paper can convert your handwriting to text, and you can use keyword searches to find what you’re looking for – something Amazon’s version lacks. Conversely, however, Lenovo won’t have the Kindle Book Library for scribbling notes – those are two separate offerings.
Oh, you wanted one ? Well, Lenovo isn’t done: it also revealed a new ThinkBook Plus that twists and turns to switch between e-ink and OLED displays. In short, it’s a bit of both. In 2020, Ring introduced a concept for a home drone. Now he’s getting closer to patrolling the homes of anxious types. The mini drone zooms around your home, looking for intruders when you’re not around. The whole device, including the docking station, looks more like a kitchen gadget than a security drone. The Always Home Camera makes that drone buzz – don’t expect it to sneak up on intruders – and you train it by holding it (without obscuring the camera) and walking around your home in the paths of flight. There is also the option to set multiple paths and waypoints. Ring still hasn’t announced a release date or price.
The main improvements are durability and safety.

While Lenovo has been a huge force in the business laptop space with its long line of ThinkPads and ThinkBooks, Motorola is trying to bring a similar aura to its latest mobile device: Motorola’s ThinkPhone. With an aramid fiber woven backing, it certainly looks the part. The big question is: do people want a phone that matches their work laptop? And will people be willing to choose the ThinkPhone over the usual suspects from Apple and Samsung?
The concept will serve as a design template for future production vehicles.
There’s finally an electric Ram truck – or at least a concept truck. Stellantis, an automaker with a stable of more than a dozen North American and European brands, including Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Maserati and Fiat, has extremely ambitious goals of achieving 100% of its European sales and half of its U.S. sales of all-electric vehicles. . . The company has yet to reveal the battery size of this concept truck, but it has confirmed that the system will use an 800V architecture allowing it to add up to 100 miles of range in around 10 minutes on a fast charger. 350 kW DC.
The prototypes would have passed the tests of the Ministry of Transport.
Goodyear is back with an improved prototype sustainable tire – 90% sustainable materials – a 20% improvement over last year. The company says the 90% blend has already passed Ministry of Transport testing, approving it for on-road use. The 90% tires are said to offer lower rolling resistance than the company’s benchmark tires, which translates to better gas mileage and longer ranges for electric vehicles.
The company is still working with its supply chain partners to secure enough precursor materials to produce them on a commercial scale and even plans to have a fully sustainable mix by 2030. The new materials include four types of black of carbon made from organic and inorganic sources. : soybean oil and rice husk silica, post-consumer polyester and bio-renewable pine tar resins.
