For shot-callers and strat-makers of VALORANTS, there’s probably nothing more exciting than the day a new card comes out. And that day will return on January 1. 10, 2023, when Lotus is released to episode six launch.
Set in India and heavily inspired by ancient Indian rock-cut architecture, Lotus features a three-site layout similar to Haven, with two rotating temple gates that swing and alert everyone when in use. , as well as a breakable door at link A between main A and site B.
After extensive testing, combined with feedback from professionals and content creators, we have a solid first list of some of the most optimal agents to run on Lotus.
The best agents to play on Lotus
Presage
Omen’s precise smoke placement abilities combined with his teleportation abilities make him a prime candidate for any Lotus comp. On defense, an early smoke on an attacking side choke point can allow himself and other teammates to get an aggressive off-angle more safely. On offense, tossing a smoke down the A stairs is the gateway to a successful execution from the A site.
Lotus has plenty of nooks and cubes to teleport and hide in as well, and most hallways, corridors, and even sites are narrow enough for paranoia to have a big effect in most scenarios.
port
the VALORANTS new officer fits nicely into any comp on Lotus, which makes sense considering the new map is essentially Harbor’s original terrain. The control Harbor has over its High Tide water wall makes it easy to delineate the multiple angles of the site. And for wider choke points that other controllers can’t cover with a single use of their smokes, its Cascade is perfect. Cove is also a great tool for any backup or gunshot, as is its ultimate reckoning considering how small the sites are.
Viper
There are many potential post-plant Snakebite lineups on Lotus for Viper, and on a three-map site like this, the map control that Viper can wield using her toxic screen and her poison cloud is exceptionally valuable. As mentioned above in the Omen section, the sites on Lotus aren’t that big, which makes its ultimate Viper’s Pit, even after recent nerfs, all the more useful.
infringe
On Lotus, you are likely to see a lot of aggression from defenders and attackers as they attempt to take control of the main areas leading up to the Lotus branded revolving doors. Therefore, having Breach almost feels like a necessity to slow down the opponent’s aggro. Also, Breach’s Rolling Thunder ultimate is one of the best ultimates you can have on Lotus if you go for a site run or rework.
Disappear
Of the recon initiators like Skye, KAY/O, and Sova, the most useful on Lotus seems to be Fade. With all the different hideouts and corners to camp in, utilities like Sova’s Recon Dart and Skye’s Guiding Light can be easier to dodge than on other maps. The amount of area a Fade Haunt can cover is very useful, especially for areas like A hand and C hand, and like Breach, its ultimate is a great boost for any run or rework.
spoiler
With three slots to manage as a defender, having the Killjoy utility in place to completely stifle the entry at one greatly reduces the burden on the rest of the team. On top of that, with so many angles and corners in areas outside of a small site, a Killjoy Lockdown is extremely powerful in runs or replays.
Jet
With early aggression likely to be a theme on Lotus, who better to anchor that aggression than Jett? With an Operator or a Rifle, Jett can get an early kill or even just intel and dash to safety, and there are so many high spots she can easily reach to surprise opponents all over the map. .
