Taliban worried about Andrew Tate as they demand his freedom

Members of taliban are “worried about Andrew Tate” and “ask us if he’s still free,” according to Sameera Khan, a former Miss New Jersey turned “anti-revival” journalist.

Khan said she participated in aTwitter space with the Afghan Taliban” to “discuss the detention of Andrew Tate”, a British-American influencer who was arrested in Romania on December 29with his brother and two Romanian nationalities, and responsible for human interaction.

Romanian prosecutors allege the Tate brothers coerced six women into producing pornography, with the alleged victims facing “acts of physical abuse and mental coercion”. One of those arrested has also been charged with rape, although his identity has not been released.

On Saturday, Khan tweeted: “We are hosting a Twitter space with the Afghan Taliban to discuss the detention of Andrew Tate.

“They’re worried about Andrew Tate and they’re asking if he’s still free.

They say Westerners need Andrew Tate because we are oppressed by feminists.

In a separate tweet, she added “#FREETOPG”, calling for Tate’s release, “TopG” being a nickname used for the influencer by some of her followers.

British journalist Otto English tweeted a screenshot from the Twitter space, showing some of the participants, adding: “It actually happened.”

The Twitter space was called “heart emoji Andrew Tate heart emoji, followed by “w/ Taliban.”

In August 2021, the The Taliban captured Kabulthe capital of Afghanistan, after the withdrawal of American troops after a nearly two-decade long insurgency.

Tate said he converted to Islam in November 2021, discussing his decision on the matter Un Islam Productions YouTube channel, in a video viewed 1.5 million times.

Those who participated in the Twitter space with Khan included a number of users who claim to support the Taliban, some of whom had the group flag in their profile picture.

One of the participants was Shahab Lewalwho claims to be a “member of the Cultural Commission” of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, based in Kabul.

Newsweek was unable to verify the exact relationship between self-proclaimed Taliban supporters who participate in the Twitter space and the group at large. The Taliban and Sameera Khan have been contacted for comment.

The group now controls Afghanistan and claims to be the country’s legitimate government, calling itself the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, although this has not been recognized by any country.

US and allied forces invaded Afghanistan in 2001 following the September 11 attacks, blaming the Taliban for harboring al-Qaeda leaders who led the attack.

Tate, a former professional kickboxer, has come under fire for a number of controversial comments about women, including his 2017 assertion that they must
“must take some responsibility” if they are raped, during the #MeToo scandal.

According to The Guardian newspaper, in a video, Tate explains how he would react to a woman accusing him of cheating, saying: “Pull out the machete, pierce her face and grab her by the neck. Shut up b****. “

Tate, who has repeatedly denied involvement in the people trade, has been contacted for comment.
