Prince Harry has revealed in his highly anticipated memoir ‘Spare’ that his wife Meghan Markle misled viewers of their Oprah Winfrey 2021 TV special about the cause of his falling out with Kate Middleton.
While the 41-year-old former ‘Suits’ actress claimed Middleton, 40, was to blame for their row over bridesmaid dresses before the Sussexes’ wedding in May 2018, the Duke of Sussex, 38, wrote that his sister-in-laws were also upset by a comment from Markle.
In his memoir, Harry recalled that the Princess of Wales was offended when Markle told her she “must have a baby brain because of her hormones,” according to Page Six.

Baby brain is a term that “refers to memory problems, poor concentration, and lightheadedness reported by many women during pregnancy and early motherhood,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
Middleton had gave birth to her third childPrince Louis, a month before Harry and Markle’s nuptials at St. George’s Chapel in London.
During the Sussexes’ meeting with Winfrey, 68, Markle made no mention of the “baby brain” remark. However, she responded to rumors that she made Middleton cry before the wedding.
“The storyline with Kate, which didn’t happen, was really, really difficult and I think that’s where it all really changed,” Markle said at the time.
Markle told Winfrey that “the reverse happened.” “It was a turning point,” admitted Markle.
Markle alleged that the story that the two had a long-running feud stemming from Middleton’s crying at the wedding “just didn’t happen.” Instead, Markle explained that a few days before the wedding, Middleton was overwhelmed by the bridesmaid’s dress for her daughter. Princess Charlottewas meant to wear.
“It made me cry and it really hurt me,” Markle explained. And I thought that in the context of everything that was going on in those days before the wedding, it didn’t make sense not to do what everyone was doing, which is to try to be united.

“It was a really tough wedding week,” Markle shared. And she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized. And she brought me flowers and a note, apologizing. And she did what I would do if I knew I hurt someone, okay, just to take responsibility. .”

Markle later explained that it was hard for her to get over being portrayed as the instigator of their feud.
“What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that I not only didn’t do, but happened to me,” Markle later told Winfrey. “Everyone in the institution knew that wasn’t true…I’m not sharing this article about Kate to disparage her in any way. I think it’s really important that people understand the truth….C he’s a good person.”
She added: “And I think a lot of what I’ve seen play out is this idea of polarity, where if you love me you don’t have to hate her. And if you love her , you don’t need to hate me.
However, Harry written in “Spare” that even though the original argument was about bridesmaid dresses, Markle’s comment added fuel to the fire.
The Duke of Sussex wrote that as the wedding approached, Middleton became emotional during a tense discussion she had with Markle over the timing of the wedding rehearsal and the cut of the bridesmaid dresses .
Ahead of the wedding, Harry recalled that Middleton was overwhelmed by her daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

He said Middleton texted Markle during the week of the wedding that there was a “problem” with his daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
Harry explained that it was expected that the “French haute couture dresses”, which had been “sewn by hand only from [the bridesmaids’] measures” would require modification.
According to the Duke of Sussex, Markle asked Middleton to bring Charlotte to the palace so a tailor could make alterations to the dresses of the six bridesmaids. Harry wrote that Middleton thought the suggestion was “not good enough” and set a time to speak with Markle.

During their conversation, Harry alleged that Middleton told Markle that her daughter’s dress was too big, long and baggy.” She also allegedly said that Charlotte “burst into tears when she tried it on.”
After Markle repeated that she had to bring Charlotte in for alterations, Middleton allegedly told her that all the dresses needed to be redone.
Markle then made the “baby brain” comment, which died out the Duchess of Cambridgeaccording to memoirs.

Although Middleton eventually agreed to bring Charlotte in for alterations, Harry recalls finding Markle crying “on the floor” after the trade. He noted that Middleton apologized and brought a card and flowers when she came the next day.
He later wrote that Markle was “offended” after being “reprimanded” for a remark and being told she “wasn’t close enough” with Middleton to comment on her hormones. According to Harry, Markle cried again after being scolded.
The dispute over the “baby brain” remark was one of many revelations to emerge from Harry’s bombshell memoir.
“Spare” is set to be released in the United States on January 1. ten.
