Prince Harry shockingly reveals he and Prince William urged King Charles not to marry Camille Parker Bowles — the mistress their father cheated on their mother with for years.
Harry, 38, has never spoken of his stepmother, the new queen consort, but breaks her silence in her new memoir, “Spare“, comes out on Tuesday.
But in the autobiographyhe spares no detail when revealing how he and William are the product of the “three” of marriage: Princess Diana, King Charles and Camilla.
In an infamous 1995 BBC interview, Diana said: “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
Sources also told Page Six that Harry goes into great detail in the book about teenage drug use and antics. He was infamous caught naked during wild night in las vegas in 2012.
Discussing his father’s marriage to his longtime love Camilla in April 2005, in a segment of “Spare” seen by Page Six, Harry wrote: “Although Willy and I urged him not to, Dad was going to forward. We pumped his hand, wished him good luck. No strong emotions.
We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he had always loved.
“Fate could have been destined for him in the first place. Whatever bitterness or sorrow we felt at closing another loop in Mom’s story, we realized that was not the point.
Sources previously told Page Six that Harry is not a big fan of Camillawith whom Charles would have renewed a romance in 1986, 10 years before divorcing Diana.
In the book, he writes: “I remember wondering…whether she would be cruel to me; if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories. He added: “Willy had long been suspicious of the Other Woman, which confused and tormented him. When these suspicions were confirmed, he felt excruciating remorse for not having done or said anything before.
When Harry’s beloved grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, died in September, he would be required to bow for Camillaand greet his father.
A senior royal source said that while William had gotten used to Camilla, Harry would never fully accept her.
When Charles and Camilla married, the couple said they would not use the title Diana, Princess of Wales.
However, before his death, Queen Elizabeth gave her blessing to Camilla, saying, “When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes king, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support you have given me; and I sincerely hope that, when the time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her loyal service.
Asked about Prince William and Harry’s thoughts on Camilla, former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown recently told the Telegraph: “William has accepted Camilla in terms of what she means to his father. He grew up with it. “My dad loves that woman, I can’t fight him, so I won’t.” Harry, on the other hand, can’t stand Camilla, he doesn’t want Camilla to be queen, he is very angry that this is happening, he hasn’t made peace with her and he probably never will.
