Ohio State fans fill their seats at Mercedez-Benz Stadium. Even though the Ohio State-Georgia game is still in its pregame state, the Buckeye faithful are cheering, supporting TCU’s lead over rival Michigan in the other college football playoff semifinal.

Another huge play results in a touchdown, this time a short pass from Max Duggan to Quentin Johnson is followed by a missed tackle on the sideline and a sprint towards the end zone. The flurry of points continues, it’s now seven of the last nine drives to finish with six points.

Roman Wilson ran it into the end zone from 18 yards (paced by a helicopter ride) and Ronnie Wilson added the two-point conversion to reduce Wolverines’ deficit to just three points with almost the entire last quarter to play. This all came on the heels of a TCU fumble on the final play of the third.

How about a combined 44 points in this third quarter?! Michigan’s defense got too aggressive with their blitzes and Emari Demarcado made them pay, overtaking the rush and breaking up a 69-yard run to the 1-yard line. Max Duggan struck again for his second rushing touchdown of the night. Four plays later, the Wolverines were back in the end zone after another deep throw completed by JJ McCarthy.

Three plays, six points for the Michigan offense, all thanks to the legs of JJ McCarthy. A 39-yard rush on second down was followed by a 20-yard rush into the end zone as the runs were plentiful in the third period. The Wolverines attempted another QB run for the two-point conversion but narrowly failed.

The game once again slipped away from Michigan with a second interception returned for a touchdown in the game. JJ McCarthy was picked by Dee Winters, who added to an already great night (six tackles, two for loss) and turned it into a spectacular night. The Frogs once again lead by three points.

The Horned Frogs have now scored more against Michigan than any team has managed this season, and that score came in just six games and two minutes. This time, Max Duggan took a back seat to save running back Emari Demarcado, who replaced the injured Kendre Miller well. Demarcado ran the ball five times in a row for a total of 29 yards to get into the end zone and restore TCU’s two-point lead.

JJ McCarthy once again reconnects with Roman Wilson (on a chip flicker!) and Michigan made it a one-score game midway through the third quarter. Wolverines won the ball with a favorable position on the pitch thanks to an interception by Mike Sainristil from Max Duggan near midfield. We have a game, guys.

Blake Moody hits home a 21-yard field goal for his third score on the night as the Wolverines reach the red zone again and fail to reach paydirt. The Wolverines had a good drive with plays for 20 and 43 yards, but the Horned Frogs again formed a wall on the goal line and forced Michigan to leave runs on the board.

Michigan’s Jake Moody nails a field goal from 59 yards to close out the first half and draw Wolverines within 21-6. Moody missed his first attempt, but TCU called a timeout to try to ice him.
Horned Frogs quarterback Max Duggan threw for 89 yards, a touchdown and a pick, adding 30 yards and a rushing score. Safety Bud Clark returned an interception 41 yards from home to open the scoring.
Michigan’s JJ McCarthy has 148 passing yards and a pick, while running back Donovan Edwards has 90 rushing yards. The Wolverines had three turnovers between McCarthy’s pick six, a fumble and one on the downs.

The Max Duggan show continues in the Fiesta Bowl. On this last drive, he did it with his arms and feet, rushing for more yardage and finding open receivers all over the field. Second from the six-yard line, Duggan escaped the pressure by rolling to his right and firing a running ball towards Taye Barber, who found the end zone to give the Frogs a decisive lead at the halftime is approaching.

On the next play after Rod Moore intercepted Max Duggan, Michigan got the better of the TCU defense with a 50-yard pass from JJ McCarthy to Ronnie Wilson, setting up what appeared to be a one-yard Michigan touchdown. . But in a scrum on the goal line, the ball was spat out and picked up by the Horned Frogs! This is the second red zone turnover for this Michigan offense.

At first and first base from the yard line, who else was going to have their number called? The Heisman runner-up faked a handoff and ran left, lowering his shoulder into a defender as he crossed the plane to cap a 12-play, 76-yard drive that elapsed more than five minutes into the game Match. Horned frogs roll in Glendale, Arizona.
For Michigan, it’s already the biggest deficit the Wolverines have faced all season.
