By India Today Web Desk: 20-year-old actress Tunisha Sharma breathed her last on Saturday on the sets of her television series ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul‘. Tunisha said hanged herself in the makeup room of her co-actor and rumored boyfriend Sheezan Mohammed Khan. A post-mortem report, prepared by a Mumbai hospital on Sunday, revealed the the actress died of asphyxiation that is, the lack of oxygen in the body.
The report states that Tunisha was not pregnant at the time of her death and no wounds were found on her body.
According to Tunisha Sharma’s uncle, “Her last rites will be performed on December 27 after the arrival of Tunisha’s aunt from England.”
Notably, after receiving Tunisha’s mother’s complaint, Mumbai police arrested co-actor Sheezan Mohammed Khan for inciting suicide (Section 306) of the Indian Penal Code. He is currently in police custody until December 28. This came after Tunisha’s mother alleged that Zeeshan mentally harassed her daughter and should be held responsible for her daughter’s death.

Early reports suggested that Tunisha had ended her life on the sets, in Naigaon’s make-up room. Soon after, Waliv police reached the show’s sets for further investigation. Sources told IndiaToday.in that she was in her co-star, Sheezan Mohammed Khan’s makeup room when the incident happened.
DCP Chandrakant Jadhav spoke to the media and shared contributions on the case. So far, police have questioned the cast and crew on set. Tunisha’s death will be investigated as both murder and suicide, Waliv police had said Saturday.
According to the DCP, Tunisha’s mother blamed Ali Baba co-star Sheezan Khan in her statement and said he should be charged with inciting suicide. It is said that Sheezan and Tunisha were in a relationship.
PROBE ON FOR ‘MURDER-SUICIDE BOTH’
Police on Sunday arrested a 27-year-old TV co-actor accused of encouraging his suicide in Palghar district, Maharashtra, a Mumbai police official told PTI.
The 21-year-old actress allegedly committed suicide while filming a series in the Vasai region here on Saturday, he said.
Based on a complaint filed by Sharma’s mother, Waliv Police have registered a case against the deceased’s co-actor, Sheezan M Khan, under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (Incitement to Suicide) and arrested him, the Valiv police station office said. .
On Saturday, Waliv police said they would investigate Tunisha’s death as both murder and suicide. No suicide note was found at the scene. Police questioned everyone present on set at the time of Tunisha Sharma’s death.
Statements from 14 people have been recorded so far in connection with the death of actor Tunisha Sharma, according to Waliv police.

The actress’ uncle said that Tunisha Sharma and her co-actor Sheezan have been close to each other since their show started.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, who heads the All India Cine Workers Association, has called for an SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate the case of Tunisha Sharma’s suicide.
Suresh Gupta said people were scared at the studio where Tunisha Sharma committed suicide. “Something bad definitely happened,” he said while adding that the government should “be careful” and that the SIT should be formulated.
“Many will come out,” Gupta alleged. “Women are not safe on set. The set is located deep inside the area,” he said.
WHO IS SHEEZAN?
On the sets of the Alibaba TV series Dastane Kabul, the show’s main cast members Sheezan and Tunisha befriended each other. Sources said that Tunisha and Sheezan Khan got closer while filming their series in Leh.
He hails from the town of Meerut and was reportedly raised by a single parent. Currently, Sheezan resides with his mother and brother in the Malad district of Mumbai.
