Final specs and pricing for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7000 Non-X processor lineup for the AM5 platform have been leaked.
AMD Ryzen 7000 Non-X Processor Family Leak: Ryzen 9 7900 for $429, Ryzen 7 7700 for $329, Ryzen 5 7600 for $229
The AMD Ryzen 7000 Non-X line of processors is no mystery, we’ve seen the specs and prices of these processors. leak in previous leaks but the last slide show that comes from video card confirms not only these, but also the chips against which these Zen 4 parts will compete. As always, the trio of processors will use the 5nm Zen 4 core architecture and will be a slight modification of the existing Zen 4 SKUs.
What makes this leak so interesting is the fact that AMD is already listing unreleased non-K 13th Gen Intel processors, compared to their non-X chips. Intel lineup set to launch on January 3.
AMD Ryzen 9 7900 – 12 Zen 4 cores for just US$429
The AMD Ryzen 9 7900 will feature 12 cores, 24 threads, and 76MB of cache (64MB L3 + 12MB L3) and will feature a maximum clock speed of up to 5.4GHz. The processor will cost US$429, which is a difference of US$120 from the Ryzen 9 7900X. Although the base clock remains to be seen the boost clock sees a reduction of 200 MHz but considering the price this 12 core chip looks amazing and I can already see a lot of users switching to this 12-core Zen under US$500. 4 tokens. AMD will position the chip against the Intel Core i9-13900 and Core i9-12900 processors.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 – 8-Core Gaming Champion Under US$350
Then we have the Ryzen 7 7700 which will feature 8 cores, 16 threads 40MB cache (32MB L3 + 8MB L3) and feature a maximum clock speed of up to 5.3GHz. The CPU will retail for US$329, which is a difference of US$70 from the Ryzen 7 7700X which retails for US$399. The Ryzen 7 7700 appears to be clocked just 100MHz less than the Ryzen 7 7700X, which is impressive considering its 65W power budget. The final TDP should fall around 90-100W given the 1.375 multiplier x for the PPT. The Ryzen 7 7700 will be positioned opposite the Core i7-13700 and Core i7-12700.
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 – Making the AM5 affordable for entry-level builders
Finally, we have the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 which will feature 6 cores, 12 threads, 38MB cache (32MB L3 + 6MB L2) and will have a maximum clock speed of up to 5.1GHz. The processor will retail for US$229, which is US$70 less than the Ryzen 5 7600X which retails for US$299. The boost clock is 200 MHz lower than that of the ‘X’ chip. The Ryzen 5 7600 will be positioned against the Core i5-13600 and Core i5-12600 processors.
Based on the above:
- Ryzen 9 7900 12 Core – US$120 cheaper than 7900X
- Ryzen 7 7700 8 Core – US$70 cheaper than 7700X
- Ryzen 5 7600 6 Core – US$70 cheaper than 7600X
One thing AMD is marketing with these chips is that they will come with a Wraith Prism (Ryzen 9 7900 / Ryzen 7 7700) or Wraith Stealth (Ryzen 5 7600) CPU cooler. Now Intel will also bundle its 13th Gen non-K processors with its brand new Laminar series coolers based on the TDP specification so that both chipmakers have a little added value for mainstream users, but we still suggest users to get aftermarket cooling options if they have the budget to get the most out of the processor.
Overall, the chips seem to offer the best performance for dollar value on the AM5 platform and we’ll be looking for less as well. A620 motherboards by mid-2023. AMD Ryzen 7000 X 3D V-Cache processors will also be headed to CES 2023 for a full reveal. Non-X CPUs will be headed to retail shelves in the market January 10.
