The TCU football team arrived in Arizona ahead of the Fiesta Bowl, landing at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix on Friday afternoon.

After their flight, the TCU trainer Sonny Dykes and offensive lineman Wes Harris briefly spoke with reporters about their upcoming college football playoff game against Michigan.

Here’s what they said about the Wolverines:

TCU coach Sonny Dykes on Michigan’s style of play

When you look at Michigan, you obviously have the Big Ten champion, which is usually Big Ten football, they’re big, strong people. You usually get games won and lost up front. Michigan has it all.

They also have very good talented players. The quarterback (JJ McCarthy) is a very good player. Very impressed with him.

They will try to rule the football. It’s going to be important for us to do everything we can to stop the game going.

Defensively same, built up front, very powerful football team. Two exceptional defensive tackles. Really good pass runners off the rim. The linebackers are good, and an athletic secondary long. So very good football team.

A bit of contrasting styles. We are a little more of a team that relies on speed. But I think the one thing that made our team special was that we are a fast team, and we are also a very physical team. Our goal is to always try to dominate the line of scrimmage and win the line of scrimmage.

It will be a big challenge for us on Saturday. But we are looking forward to the challenge. I think it will be really essential for us to be able to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of football. It will be a challenge. But, again, our guys are looking forward to it, excited about it.

I think, as I said, our team is known for its speed. But I really think this team is a physical, tough, tough-minded football team, and we’ve had a lot of success this year.

Yeah, like I said earlier, two exceptional defensive tackles. Guys who look good up front do a good job playing with their hands. Do a really good job, big strong guys, to stay in the gaps. Really gap-style defense.

What I like about their defense is that the guys play really well together. They do their job consistently. They are in the right place at the right time. They play with good technique. I have a good plan.

They are a very solid defensive football team. They don’t drop a ton of big plays. They try to make you win everything you get.

For us, it always starts with our ability to be able to run football. It will be important for us to do so. I have a lot of faith in offensive linemen, guys like Wes [Harris] Here to be able to play physical in front and open the holes. If we do that, usually our passing game has a chance of getting the ball down the field and passing it to guys who can make plays.

As I said earlier, we are a fast football team. Our guys like to shoot in the field. And we’re going to have to do a lot of hard-fought one-on-one takes in this game. This is what great football games usually boil down to, which team can win the one-on-one battles and make the defensive holds and defensive plays.

You light up the strip, and I don’t think they have a single weak point in their defense.

So it will be fun. I know we are excited to come out and show what we can do. But it’s also important to TCU. I don’t think we’ve been on the map or on such a large scale for long enough, so we’re excited to come out and show what we can do and show what we can do against an opponent like this .

Kind of like I said, it’s a very good football team. I don’t think they have any weak links on the defensive side of the ball. We are therefore delighted to face them.
