South Carolina’s message to four-star quarterback LaNorris Sellers this fall was crystal clear: Stay home.
Most signs point to sellers doing just that when the South Florence High School star reveals her final college choice and signs her national Letter of Intent at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the school auditorium.

Sellers, the No. 5 rookie in the state, has verbally committed to Syracuse since March, but has publicly backed off on the strength of that commitment and picked up two 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictions this week to return to South Carolina.
247Sports national scouting analyst Brian Dohn and 247Sports director of football scouting Steve Wiltfong – both of whom correctly predict commitments at over 90% this cycle – filed Crystal Ball forecasts on Tuesday for sellers choose USC.
“I think (South Carolina) is in a strong position to overthrow four-star quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who had a great senior season, but it’s definitely a tough call,” he added. . Wiltfong tweeted on Tuesday.

Speaking to TV channel WLTX after that game on December 11. On Jan. 17, Sellers said he was still attached to Syracuse but had “a few things to think about with that” ahead of his signing ceremony.
He had spent the week training and playing with two USC hires, offensive lineman Markee Anderson and defensive lineman Monteque Rhames II, who had both openly recruited him to join the Gamecocks.
South Carolina’s message was “just to stay home, run the program, be around people I know and be close to family,” Sellers told WLTX. He added of his impending decision: “You just have to think about what’s best for you at this time.”
South Carolina hasn’t signed a quarterback in its class of 2023, which currently has 22 signs and ranks 16th nationally in the 247 Sports composite.
