Before we get to the Week 15 leaderboard, let’s address some of the biggest questions facing Fantasy players at quarterback heading into the Fantasy Semi-Finals, starting with one of the biggest injuries of the season, potentially:
Are there any trustworthy streamers to replace Jalen hurts?
Gardner Minshew. He’s probably the only widely available quarterback I’d feel comfortable with starting this week. In TD six-point-per-pass scoring formats, he had 22.8 and 18.4 points in his two starts last season, and in 2020 he’s topped 20 points six times in nine starts — and he’s not. had not A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smithand Dallas Goodert throw at. I don’t think Minshew is as good as Hurts, even as a passer, but Minshew is very capable, and that offense is in a really good place for him to power up. The only hesitation is a very tough game, but considering it looks like half the league is going to be playing in sub-zero temperatures and high winds this weekend, that’s not enough to scare me. Minshew could end up in the top 12 QB for me before it’s all said and down.
What’s with it Justin Herbert?
Herbert has been a pretty big disappointment this season, and he hasn’t had as many excuses lately. He’s played without his best guns and a group of key offensive linemen for much of the season, and while the line is still a mess, he’s had Keenan Allen and mike williams Last two weeks and has a touchdown and two interceptions 93 attempts. It’s pretty awful. the Chargers Offensive game planning is a mess, rarely taking advantage of Herbert’s massive arm strength with any regularity, and it too often leaves the Chargers trying to string drives together in 5-yard chunks. He still throws the ball over 40 times most weeks and has prodigious talent, so I’m probably still starting Herbert – his advantage is too big to leave him on my bench without a really convincing option. But he’s more of a low-end QB1 than the elite guy we expected him to be.
Can you still trust Geno Smith without Tyler Locket?
Lockett is expected to miss at least a few weeks with a broken finger, and that’s bad news for a sea hawks the offense has been built heavily around his two best passers – 48% of Smith’s targets have gone to Lockett or DK Metcalfwith Noah FanLockett’s 53 targets rank third on the team, less than half of Lockett’s total. And Smith was particularly effective when he targeted Lockett, continuing a trend that has continued throughout Lockett’s career – his 8.9 yards per target stand out even from the very strong 7.8 Y/ A by Smith. Marquise Goodwin is a solid deep threat and Fant and go dissly They’re a good pair of tight ends, but I think Lockett is going to miss Smith, a reliable option in middle and deep games. It’s not enough to sit Smith in what we hope will be a shootout against the Chiefsbut that reduces its margin of error a little.
Is Trevor Lawrence now a must-have Fantasy QB?
I was a little skeptical of Lawrence’s recent good streak, because one of the hardest things to do when analyzing spots is to tell the difference between a good streak and a player reaching a new level of performance. However, after another brilliant performance against a very good cowboys defense in week 15, I’m on board. Sure, it could end up being a hot streak, but Lawrence was an elite prospect who showed signs of taking a big step forward at the start of this season with his rebuilt receiving body, and now it looks like he cemented his place as one of the best quarterbacks in the League. the Jets the defense is pretty good, but Lawrence got the benefit of the doubt as a top 10 QB.
